[ she doesn't need to elaborate if she doesn't want to, because he gets it. hell, it'd be a lot for even him to take in, and sometimes he thinks nothing can surprise him anymore. ]
well you know i'm only a call away if you need me for anything
[ he's not exactly good at this. at the comfort part. but he doesn't want her to get by on her own either, especially knowing what she's been through. ]
i can be an open ear if you need it
or just company don't gotta talk if you don't want
[ it's been some time since he'd been to the apartments, but he's been around long enough to know his way, even if his entry into the building earns a few glances from security. it'd been the same back when he'd first made visits here, considering they aren't fond of a submissive wandering around on their own too much, but they've gone slightly easier on him since he'd formed his contract with diana and surpassed a year in the city.
despite her message, he still initially knocks on the door when he reaches her floor from the elevator, giving her that brief warning before he nudges it open and peers inside. ]
[Sheβs sitting on the couch, wrapped in a blanket. Her clothes are more relaxed, but donβt exactly scream pajamas. Itβs late, and part of her feels bad, but part of her isnβt quite used to the constant planetary passing of time. Itβs been awhile since she was stationary for a period of time.
She shifts when she hears him coming and manages a smile when he appears at the door. Thereβs about three different containers of Chinese from clearly one of the questionable places one might find.]
[ he gives a soft smile when he sees her, subtle on his face with the lopsided shift of his lips but it seems to come easy in her presence. he isn't one to relax so easily in the presence of others, but there's been a few exceptions in his time; their first meeting together, the secrets they shared and the understanding they'd formed, it allowed her to join those ranks. ]
Hey. [ stepping inside, he shuts the door behind him, giving the room a quick once over glance before he focuses back in on her, stepping over closer with a gesturing nod to the scattered containers. ]
[She doesnβt have very many personal things, yet. The room is pretty sparse aside from the city provided furniture. But the Chinese containers are spread around, and upon his notice she gives a sheepish smile.]
Youβre welcome to it. I wanted to try a few things. It sort of reminds me of some of the street food on some of the planets Iβve been to. [Sheβs survived on worse, and sitting down to a home cooked meal has been a luxury.
It feels easier than talking about why exactly sheβs up, but she makes room next to her on the couch, already feeling more relaxed. Maybe they had an unorthodox meeting, and she wouldnβt necessarily want to go through that experience again, but having gotten closer to someone so similar itβs nice to have that bond. It doesnβt make her feel as alone here.]
[ he doesn't pack much himself, even with how long he's been living in the city. even when he had his own apartment, most of the furniture there had been set up there by the dominant he'd had prior to diana (whose name he sure has won't ever bring up again), and when he'd left, all he'd really taken with him were a bundle of his clothes and his dog, along with a box of rosie's belongings which amounted to probably much more than he owned himself.
but he's always kept light, never wanting to really attach himself to any one place. it's easier to move around that way. ]
Yeah, they got takeout over there too? [ he shuffles over to that open space she provides, settling down beside her on the couch as he peers over the food upon the table. ] How different is it? World like this compared to, uh, other planets, I guess?
[ earth boy who never really believed in things like aliens or the supernatural still has a hard time with the concept of space living. ]
[She sits back in the couch, pulling on of her legs to her chest as she got comfortable. Maybe itβs because she still isnβt used to having people so close to her, but she feels even more aware of their height difference, telling herself to not think about anything else. The last thing she wants is to make this awkward.
Then again thatβs definitely what the city loves to do.
The conversation being on her home helps though. Itβs something familiar and easy for her. Leaning forward, she moves to grab a fried wonton.]
I had to move around a lot. My father tried running from the Imperial Army when the Republic fell. I was only 2 at the time. We lived on one of the wealthiest planets. Then we moved to an uninhabited one. It was just mostly farmers like us. And then when they took him, I essentially became a criminal at 6. If they found me, they would use me against my father. So I had to move around a lot.
Most planets Iβve been to are more like the Down though. Theyβre on the Outer Rim where itβs easier to blend in, hide in plain site. Food can be a luxury though. Iβve survived on worse things.

[She got as far as texting him, and even that is a lot. She doesn't really 'reach out'.]

[That's the best she can come up with.]
I wouldn't mind company though. I over ordered on take-out. Not used to suddenly being able to just afford things.

Doorβs open. [Is she a little pleased is coming over? Definitely. She ends him the suite number sheβs staying at in the Dominant apartments.]
