P R E L U D E β The second-story bar of the 13th Step is known to draw in a various kind of crowd, some who engage in the more illegal doings throughout the crime-magnet of the Down and manage to slip through the cracks to the better established part of the city in the Up. But even in a more controlled environment, their lips remain loose, bragging of their routines in the dirtier corners below, unaware of the man in black seated at a nearby stool, quietly sipping at his cup of joe. They pay him no mind even as they boast of the businesses they partake in, particularly the chain of dog-fighting kennels they have scattered about in different disguised venues where they bring in a hefty sum from the thrown cash given in the name of addictive gambling habits. With an almost exhausted breath, the man holds the mug high to bring the last drops of coffee past his lips, warm with the right degree of boost to his insides, fueling him for what's to come. He'll leave a sizable tip on the counter; the bartender's a good friend of his and if he's prepared to feel any sliver of guilt, it's for any disruption given to her business. No words are spoken when he rises and he grasps tightly to the back of the loudest patron's shirt, dragging him out of his chair with easy strength, despite the thug's protesting cries and attempts to break away free. No blood on the bar, he'd once promised the lady, and so he keeps to his word, waiting until he reaches the outdoor alleyway to make full use of his knuckles, drawing plenty of blood upon the dirty gravel until he gets the sought out information to set up his next plan. W H A T β Frank Castle has gathered intel on a chain of illegal dog-fighting kennels scattered throughout the Down. If it were up to him, he'd take them all on his own, a one-man army taking out every asshole involved in the operations. Unfortunately, he lacks the equipment to do so, and as soon as he takes down one location, there's a high risk the others will have an opportunity to relocate and go into hiding β which means the only option is taking them all out at once. So he recruits his old friend, Billy Russo, to help him build together a team of interested parties who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and want to prioritize rescuing dozens of injured and enslaved dogs. Either word will get out from Billy's careful lips or Frank will pay closer attention to other patrons in the bar, getting a read on who might be appropriate for the mission with something to contribute. When all the pieces are brought together, they'll make after the already late hours in the bar, to split the party into teams, designating them to different places of operations to take them down. W H O β YOU. Does your character want to play hero? Does your character want to get their hands dirty? Is your character fond of dogs? Are they unafraid of the punishment that might await for their involvement? Open to existing cr of either Frank or Billy, or someone who might lurk around the 13th Step to offer their hand. W H E R E β Beginning plans will take place in the 13th Step located in the Up. The mission will be scattered in various sketchy areas in the Down. W H E N β The idea is for it to happen on Christmas in game. OOCly, it'll range between December 23rd-31st with plenty of room for backtagging into January, of course. W H Y β Because dogs deserve saving. And afterwards, Danny and Eggsy will be opening rescue shelters to help find all of these dogs homes throughout the existing citizens of the city, so any characters will have the option to adopt a dog for themselves to take care of and give wholehearted love to. H O W β Comment below with the character you're interested in having partake in the raid, how they'd like to get involved in the first place, and what they might do during the missions. Also if you have a preference on who you want to team up with, say so! Or talk amongst each other to set up teams of two's or three's. If you really want to go wild and have me RNG it (??) I can do that too. The purpose of this post is to get an idea of how many people want to be involved and how they might perform during the mission so that I can get his information to the mods asap. Depending on how they move about and take care of the raid, they could either get away with it or get caught and face some level of punishment (either some "sexy" thing or jail time, according to the mods, depending on their lawyer's defense). So just keep in mind when throwing your name in the hat, your character could get in trouble for this! Details on this pending. And with a final note β I will be out of town between the 15th and the 22nd, so I won't get to jump in and comment as much, but I'll chime in when I can, and I'll respond to any plurk pings to answer questions and such! Once I'm back, I'll organize the details and comments together to contact the mods and get this sorted out so that I can then set up a log. Hopefully that all makes sense! |

OKAY - I'll soon be making a log post for the event, with an open starter for discussing the plans at the bar (open to chat with Frank or the other volunteers) and then a set up for the raid itself. The plan is to split the raid into three to four groups of 2-3 characters for infiltrating different locations, depending on preference for one-on-one or group threading. Threading can be done however you like, but the organization is more of a basis to let the mods know how this is going down, so we know what the circumstances/potential punishment for this is.
I'll be putting up the log sometime this weekend set during Christmas (or you can handwave it around Christmas if you have specific Christmas plans already), but you're free to backtag well into January. I'll at least get the info to the mods asap, so you can know what might happen to your character afterwards. According to the mods, these are the possibilities if they got caught: They'd do some court time and it would depend on how good their lawyer is plus all the factors of what they do. They could be handed back to LIEs for punishment which is probably going to be sexy. Or they can do some jail time. :D
Here are the characters currently volunteering for the raid based on this post (with other potential volunteers not listed):
A) Is there a preference on who you'd like to be teamed up with or would you like to be randomized into a team?
B) Do you have a preference on being a leader of a team?
C) Do you prefer a team of 2 or 3 characters, or either?
D) Will your character kill during the mission or only injure enemies? Would you like to avoid being teamed with non-murderers?
E) Anything else you'd like to address?
