[ he's exhausted; he'd assumed the dome would be tricky and a pain to get through, just as much as everything in this town has been, but it's certainly proven to be an escalation of all of it put together. despite his bear-affected skin, he's already managed to get some severe scratches and bites from those creatures, having had to taken a few down while protecting max from them. but he'd overcome it, now trying to catch his breath after the fight.
when he gets the call.
he sees the name on his fluid and he feels the tension in his chest tighten, answering fast. ]
[Skye's relief is very momentary when she hears him pick up, because of course he thinks it's Wynonna on the phone.]
Hey, Frank.
[Given the fact that their voices are different, it's probably apparent he's not talking to Wynonna. But she makes it more obvious by clarifying that for him.]
It's Skye. I'm with Wynonna, but, she needs help. Please tell me you're in this ridiculous dome too?
[Because she's trying so hard to remain calm in front of Wynonna right now as it is, but if she finds out that Frank isn't in here? Yeah. She's going to lose it.]
and in an instant, thereβs a swell of panic, urgency blossoming with the quickening of his heart before skye even gets to say much more. because thereβs no other reason for him to get a call through that phone from someone else. ]
Where is she? What happened?
[ heβs not even sure which he needs answered first, but his feet are already moving, even before they know where they want to go. ]
[Which, if he's in here as well, is a very vague answer. There's so many thoughts going through her head right now and it's hard to focus on trying to give him directions. What the hell was she supposed to say anyway? 'We're by some trees'?]
She was protecting me and got attacked by some of the creatures in here.
[That's putting it mildly. She left out the part about how Wynonna was a bear.]
[ he knows there's no real way to answer that, not when so much is the same, the woods being as they are, everything about this place making it simple to get lost as the most evident change is the shifting of the hour and what comes with each.
but he's desperate now, voice deepening to something harsher. ]
Where is she? [ though the "where" hints more at a stronger "how", terrified in even asking. ] I need to know where you are.
[The fact that he doesn't say he's not in here is a small relief at least, but his increasing demand to know their location snaps her back to reality. Remembering that she has a compass on her, Skye manages to bring her bag closer to her so she can reach in and grab it with one hand, the other still firmly on Wynonna.]

[Which could very easily be pointless to him if he isn't great with directions or doesn't have a compass of his own. She tries to keep her voice lower so that Wynonna can't hear her panic, the desperation, in her voice.]
